The Grizzly Bear is a large North American carnivore. It is adoptable in all three Wildlife Park games.

Description[]

The grizzly bear is a subspecies/population of the brown bear, the most widespread of all eight bear species. Like all brown bears, it has a comparatively large head, a muscular hump on its shoulder and long, blunt claws which are adapted for digging. Males can be up to 30% larger than females.

The grizzly bear is one of the larger subspecies of brown bear, with adult males reaching up to 3.35ft (1.02m) at the shoulders and weighing in at 790lb (360kg). Its brown fur is generally "grizzled" in lighter tones of gray or white at the tips, which is a possible explanation for its common name.

Like all bears, grizzly bears are typically solitary animals. They can be found across a wide range of habitats across North America. Although they are technically classed as carnivores and will eat other animals when they get the chance, they are normally omnivorous, also feeding on plants, insects and fish.

Wildlife Park[]

The North American grizzly bear, a relative of the brown bear, can have a wide range of colorings ranging from light gray to black. It feeds mainly on plants but also likes to catch fish with its mighty claws and can even knock down a deer. If it raises itself up on its hind legs to higher than a man would be standing, it is trying to above all reconize danger or to find new sources of food.

Wildlife Park 2[]

Latin name: Ursus Arctos Horribilis. The colouration of the North American grizzly bear, a sub-species of the European brown bear, can range from light grey to black. The grizzly mainly feeds on plants, however, with its powerful claws it can also hunt fish or even kill a deer. When the grizzly stands up on his hind feet, far taller than any human, it is usually trying to recognize approaching dangers or trying to find a source of food. Although there is hardly a difference in size between the sexes, the female grizzlies often weigh only half as much as the male animals. This species is endangered.
